I first met Tamir Muskat at a gig in Tel-Aviv 8 or 9 years ago. I was playing Bass. Tamir was playing drums. No rehearsals. We fell in love. Well, I fell in love with him and I would like to think he fell in love with me too, although my hair was way shorter back than and I was on the chubby side. We used to take long walks on the beach and watch the sunset, until I met my wife to be and that had to stop.
Today we focus on music. Tamir is the best drummer in the world (I know it's sounds childish but it's true), and if you think differently you either never watched him play
or you are a very silly person.
Ori Kaplan is an extraordinary sax player. He plays Alto and Baritone as well as other wind instruments. In the last few years he has been perfecting gipsy, Balkan, and Middle Eastern styles. He has been a big influence on me and recently taught me this Turkish scale I can't stop playing on my bass but...
he is bald.
When Steve Ulrich plays his guitar you know it is Steve Ulrich playing the guitar.
You are probably saying "Wow" as well. Steve is also in a great fuckin' band called "Big Lazy" along with Tamir and Paul Dugen on contra bass.
What I'm trying to say is that I feel very privileged playing with these three amazing musicians.
(Although I know I'm pretty damn good myself).
Shot'nez are in the midst of mixing their first full length album which was recorded in Vibromonk studios, Brooklyn .
We plan to tour Europe , conquer Spain , devastate Germany , occupy Greece and finish the evening eating great Humus in Yafo , Israel / Palestine.
